about me

A bit about me....

Hello! I'm Emily and I am an up-and-forcoming Artist, Filmmaker, Photographer and Performer fresh off the back of graduating from Goldsmiths University with a BAFA in Fine Art.

I've worked on many of my own independent projects as well as collaborating with other creatives to assist with their work. My work tends to focus on human connection and picking apart social behaviours that bind us all together.  I primarily work in Film and Photography but have extensive experience in painting, performance and poetry too. My written work has often been compared to satirical comedic voices such as Bridget Jones, and my film work linked with artists such as Cindy Sherman and Bruce Nauman. I pull inspiration from visiting art exhibitions, watching documentaries and observing the current social climate, commonly mixing it with my own experiences. I greatly enjoy the use of analogue mediums such as 35mm cameras, 8mm camcorders and typewriters to create displaced fantastical elements to my practice in a Brechtian theatrical way. In 2020 I was selected as one of Coastal Current Festival's upcoming artists. In 2023 I began The No-Art Art Show, showcasing work from over 30 people with varied backgrounds in the arts, due to its success and demand this has developed into a continuing project I hope to reproduce in future on a greater scale.
